DUTY MANAGER
Duties
- Oversees all aspects of the operation of the radio station during broadcasts
- Is responsible for a specific day per week
- Follows the instructions of the Station Manager
- Provides emergency support to the presenter or technical operator
- Attends the studio and ensures that the day’s broadcast commences promptly and efficiently at 7am
- Checks into the studio at 12 noon and 6pm (approximately)
- Calls the final presenter at five minutes past midnight to ensure that everything is well (e.g. overnight service, security alarms etc.)
- Is on standby for the whole day, even if not actually in the studio
- Listens to the radio during the day’s broadcast to detect any problems (technical, deviation from agreed programme content, bad language, or other breaches of the code of conduct).

Other Matters
All Volunteers
- Must join Thornbury FM - annual subscription rates apply
- Must be able to get to studio or meeting place in Thornbury on time
Volunteer Duty Manager
- Training will be provided (not accredited)
- Must receive child-safe training and be CRB checked
- Must be able to give a minimum of 1 day during each week of broadcast
- Must be able to reach the studio in an emergency within 10 minutes
