Winifred Baker

There is a new, Scottish, voice at Thornbury FM since Winifred Baker joined the volunteer team. She and her husband, Les, have recently relocated their small landscape architecture practice to Olveston. Winifred had previously been helping Forest of Dean Community Radio, the first fully licensed community station in the UK.

“I was really delighted to tune in to Thornbury FM when we moved” commented Winifred. “The standard of radio output is very high and I’m particularly impressed by the advertising which manages to be both professional and affordable for small businesses. I was also struck by how many local people are actively involved and what fun they seem to have. Community Radio is a really remarkable medium for confidence building and drawing community members together”.
